Why did you enter the Challenge?
- Edward - I was on the 'organisational' side of the event in 2006, saw the faces of the competitors at the race finish and they inspired me... I decided there and then that this is a "must do" challenge for me.
Also, to challenge myself physically and mentally, to help support the Mark Webber Challenge Foundation and its beneficiaries, to meet and get to know motivated, likeminded people in the most magnificent location on the planet and as an ex-pat Tasmanian - experience the state from a totally new perspective.
- Warren - Have seen it on Television over the past few years and always wanted to do it! I love the Tasmanian wilderness and doing the challenge with likeminded motivated people will be awesome.
How did you come together as a team?
- Edward - Brought together by a mutual friend and out of a desire to have a crack at this terrific event.
- Warren - Introduced by a friend, my original team mates whimped out.

What is the common factor that attracts each of your team members to entering an event like the Challenge?
- Edward - Pushing our bodies and minds to the limit and getting to know what makes us, and the other competitor's tick, while experiencing Tasmania's magnificent natural environment.
- Warren - Completing one of the most special adventure races in the world and experiencing the Tassie wilderness.
What makes your team different from the rest?
- Edward - We had never met prior to signing on to compete; we have never participated in an adventure race but share the same desire to have a go.
- Warren - The fact that we live in different cities and that we don't know each other from a bar of soap. But we have the same desire.
Most peculiar fear any of the team members has going in to the Challenge?
Edward - Entering into the 'unknown' and backing up day in day out.
Warren - The physical challenge day after day after day.
What keeps any of you awake at night when thinking about the challenge?
Edward - The excitement of the Challenge itself. And my young children!
Warren - the excitement of competing.
When lost in the middle of Tasmania, your team can play one music track to cheer yourself up - what would it be?
Edward - All these things that I've done (The Killers).
Warren - Eye of the Tiger.
